Smile Seat Belt Presenter

I've searched the archives but could not come up with an answer for my '93 300CE. The previous owner glued in the triangular shaped piece that holds the belt. It is broken and I want to replace it. The presenter is only extended for a brief period of time before it retracts. Is there any way to keep it extended so I may work on the glued portion?
Incidentally, we LOVE this feature. A friend suggested that I install small trays that will hold a drink glass to present a rum and coke at startup!

I suppose you could extend the presenter and then pull the fuse so they remain extended. The fuse is in the main fuse box under the hood. I believe it is the same fuse for the power mirrors.

anziani, instead of fooling with the existing seat belt presenter loop buy a new one from your local MB dealer. Replacement is easy once you unbolt the seat belt at the floor. Be sure to make note of the coil spring orientation inside the plastic sleeve. The coil spring rotates the plastic sleeve toward the floor so rear seat passengers don't trip getting in/out.

Fred,
The original loop is split. I have the new one but the old loop is glued in and I can't budge it. If i can pull the fuse and stop it in its extended position, then I can use solvent to soften up the glue. At least that is my intention.

anziani, try using a good utility knife to slice the loop section along the axis of the presenter arm. Then use a flat blade screwdriver to pry the loop off the presenter arm. I find the presenters a nuisance and disabled them by pulling the fuse. I simply reach back with my hand just above the floor and grab the seatbelt.

Fred,
That is my plan, actually I used a razor blade to break the seal but the glue is internal to the loop. I think I can solve it when I get it immobilized.
We love the presenters, in fact when we drive the E420 we sit there waiting for the belts!
