I NEED A VERY QUICK ANSWER
 
99 clk 430 transmission has been replaced now I need to hook it up to a star machine to adapt it. Please tell me what is involved? I am on the phone with some perspective help and he is asking me a lot of questions that I don't know the answer to. It sounds like he is setting himself up for a big pay day.

Has the whole car been replaced or some component?

If the former, STAR not required.

i put in a transmission

Should be plug and play. I had the trans ECU fail on a 99ML430 and swapped it out. Don't recall having to initiate or sync anything. Proceed with caution.
