I need another Mercedes like I need a hole in my head, BUT, I may have stumbled on to a deal too good to pass up...

I know very little about the W124's and the 300CE, but I have been doing some reading here. I haven't seen the car yet, but it is one of those "little old lady" stories - she just wants to sell it and get it out of her garage.

She says it's immaculate, only 50,000 miles and everything works except the door locks. Been garaged or covered - red with the palomino interior. Wants $4000 for it - what do you guys think?

I don't know anything about this model - potential problem areas, etc. - although I did read about a costly EZL ignition (??) and head gaskets.
