Changing my Fan Clutch "Bearing bracket"--Help
Well, my tech came by last night and said that the clicking noise coming from my engine was my fan, he said that I have to change the Fan clutch "bearing bracket" I would like help on doing this because I plan on doing it myself. Is there steps to doing this. Any help will be greatly appreciated. BTW I drive a '95 C280

Harold:
I see you didn't get a reply yet. The job involves removing the fan itself, then the serpentine belt, the pulley behind the fan, then finally the bracket. I believe this would be similar to doing a 103 engine. You may be able to get by leaving the bracket in place for the belt tightener. It gets pretty involved and you "almost" have to have the special tools for removing the fan. My recommendation to avoid damaging anything is having a shop do it. Gilly |
