1998 210 ,how to jump switch to check A/C
This is my first newer benz,a 98 E300TD.Just want to jump the pressure switch to verify ac clutch. No use putting in r134 if the clutch is bad. This car has a 3 wire plug on the switch. On the 124's it was just a matter of touching both wires together to turn on the ac clutch to listen for any weird noise. The lady i bought the car from ,who seems honest, say's the ac just quit on her.She claims this happened before and there was a fuse under the passenger foot well area that needed to be replaced.???I did check all three fuse box's and all is well.None of the fuse box's are on the passenger side.So who knows ...The fan and heat work very well.
So anyway i just want to check the clutch before i go into anything else. Thanks Rich |
Read this article and pull actual values and error codes. Actual valves wont help much until it runs. Note codes, and then erase. Hold both auto buttons to erase each code while in error mode. If EC light goes off, then try AC again.
