How many people actually have or use batteries that need to be topped off? Every one I have ever seen is a maintenance free unit.....

Wet Cell
Believe it or not,I've still got a Diesel Battery I bought from PepBoys on
San Jose Blvd. in Jacksonville,Florida in 1996 (That lived in the Golf 1.6 D) AND it still charges up to 12.75 Volts.(And holds it.) ['Thing's just got to be a big time anomaly] Only thing that's ever been done to it is Periodic "Topping Up" with distilled AND of course keeping it charged. There are Two Marine Batteries in the Garage,1998 Vintage, and they'll charge up to 12.43 and hold the charge.(Same maintenance program) "Cheap is a compliment ...Not an Insult!"
