How to check trans fluid 1997 S320
 

I have 1997 S320 with 66k miles

I want to check transmision fluid first but it seems transmission level stick stuck in there

any help please

The cap is sealed with a lock pin. You break off the top and then push the bottom out with a small screwdriver.

The tube is empty......you'll need the factory dip stick "tool" to check the fill level.

Be certain to get a new lock pin for teh cap; it can and will vibrate off and be lost otherwise.

I'm not sure how long you've had the vehicle, but my S420 and 190E do the same thing until they start to warm up. The owner's manual says that the delayed upshifting is designed to heat up the catalytic converters more quickly and decrease emissions.
