Belt Tensioner-Again?
So my mechanic says I need to replace my belt tensioner soon. I did this two years ago. Anyway to make these last longer, $400 every couple years for something like this is annoying.

When I changed my tensioner in 2007 on my 1991 300CE, the old part was dated 1996. The new ebay crap part I put in lasted a whopping 4 months. I then went with a more reputable internet seller, and so far so good. If you want a ten year part, you'll probably have to go with OEM. If you want a cheaper part, there are plenty out there. Just be sure to get what you pay for.

the part is about $280 plus labor, I think ( I would have to look at my old receipts). my mechanic says 2 years is about right, and the PO also warned me they go about every two years. it is on a m119 motor, so that might make a difference from other w124
