190e Vacuum issue?

I have a 190e with 160k on it, and I believe there is a vacuum problem. The 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are "mildly violent," and the power locks are sluggish (wont close w/ key, usually).

Where can I find a vacuum diagram? And how do I go about looking for a potential leak?

2 different vacuum circuits.

My 190 shifted hard since new (1993) until I had to replace the Vacuum Modulator due to it leaking. After I replaced the VM it shifted much smoother and still does.

The door locks work off of a vacuum pump under the rear seat on the passenger side.

ok, how do i ID the modulator and/or its hoses? there's several that run back there, i figured one of the "extras" was for locks.

and im actually kinda glad the locks can stay broken. currently i can key the door, and it sets the alarm, but doesn't lock the doors. my car is parked outside so this is preferable. i would rather a crackhead open my door to grab $1.50 from my ashtray, then try the door, find it locked and then use a ghetto credit card (brick) on my window... saves me $100, and the alarm going off might just scare him off fast enough to not continue to go for the stereo...

The Vacuum Modulator is mounted on the side of the transmission on the drivers side. The vacuum line connects to the intake.

Do you have a 2.3 or 2.6?

oh, sorry. 2.3. btw, i adjusted the throttle cable, and the throttle-trans cable. it drives quite a bit better. shifts still a little firm, gonna chack the modulator next.

also, there's another issue with the car, though i may make a separate thread.

the car doesn't make power past 1/3 throttle. even revved in N, it revs much faster part throttle than full. when floored it pulls very weakly, though it revs to redline in each gear, and sounds normal. now, so long as i stay below a certain amount of throttle, the car behaves and drives nicely, but more than that and it doesn't do so good...

im going to change the fuel filter and drop to gas tank to clean it of any sediment, whats the next step if those don't work?
