Trans rebuilding Q
Can a Mercedes transmission, being of the 3 speed variety, be rebuilt only so many times?
What type of flushing method is the the safest as far as dislodging things and mucking up the valve body?

Any transmission can be rebuilt as long as parts are available.
Use a transflush, such as BG products, which will remove the built up burned transmission fluid, for instance. The valve body will be protected by the filter.

Replacing "soft" clutch & bands can be done OVER & over on MB transmissions.
There isn't any good way to "flush" out a valve body. IF it has been contaminated with metal OR clutch material, you will need to completely disassemble & clean.
