pulling brakes
 

recently purchased '85 107. Pulls to the right on braking. Changed the pads, right front 7/8 gone, left 1/2. Action of calipers seems even with no binding. Flushed system. Still pulls, but not as bad. When I push on the pedal get initial pressure and then slight mush until firm pressure. Just like air is in system. I have bleed it twice, I really don't think it is air unless it is stuck in the ABS. Is there special procedures for bleeding this vintage of ABS? The CD doesn't mention one. Is the master cylinder failing? I have inspected the flex hoses, no balloons. I have not yet replaced them, but did not get significant debris or anything when flushing to think I have an internal problem with a hose. Tried all the tricks I know. Any thoughts appreciated.

On any dual master cylinder system I've ever seen, the front brakes are served by one line coming directly from the cylinder that is teed off downline to serve each front brake. Therefore, if the master cylinder is not behaving properly, both front brakes would be equally affected (no pulling). It's my understanding that pressure bleeding is a more effective way to rout out stubborn air pockets in an ABS braking system. You have 16 year-old brake hoses; it's time for their retirement party in any event. A bad hose can collapse internally when not under pressure and act as a check valve, slowing the return of brake fluid towards the master cylinder and delaying the release of the caliper (Probably not your problem, but...).

I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF 107 CARS HAVE THAT PULL , IF YOU HAVE BAD SUBFRAME MOUNTS IT WILL GIVE YOU SAME EXACT PROB. YOU PROBARLY GONNA NEED NEW SUB FRAME BUSHINGS , MIGHT ASS WELL ALSO CHANGE MOTOR MOUNTS AND SWAY BAR BUSHINGS. I ONLY SUGGEST IT CAUSE WHEN YOU BRING DOWN THE SUB FRAME IT A LOT EASIER TO DO THE MOUNTS

K Juul notes uneven pad wear. Would that be indicative of a subframe problem?

My 0,02$ worth :
Change the brakehoses,I've had the same problem on rearbrakes with one brake sticking.
The hoses can be clugged inside,when applied pressure when you brake you pump oil trough with force.When released the oil could be having a hard time bleeding back.
16 yo hoses are getting soft and when applied pressure they will swell a bit causing the softpedal feel.
