1987 560 sel idle control valve location
Just wondering if anyone can tell me where the idle control valve is located on my 87 560 sel.

It is on top of the engine in front of the air cleaner housing, near the themostat housing. Check the BUY PARTS in this forum for a picture. There is info about the valve using the search funtion in this forum.

You can test it by unplugging the wires to it and putting a fresh 9v battery to the terminals. It should go clunk when you do that. Be sure to inspect the hoses while you're in there.
