Brakes on an 02 S500 (w220)
How can I find out if my car has a SBC and if it does, can I still replace the pads and the sensors without having that system deactivated as I read in some of the posts? I don't want to replace calipers or even disks, just pads and sensors.
Thanks in advance, I did the search but could not find a straight answer. I hate the 220 and I love love the W140. I am never owning a 220 again, unfortunately I am stuck with this one. |
Only 2003 & later R230 & W211 cars have SBC....the W211 dropped the system in 2007
W220 cars never had that system. |
No it is not on your model and year. It's a very easy job to replace pads. The rear brakes max 30 minutes from wheels off to wheels on. Front was more involved for me as I did disc and bearings also.

Thank you guys, that news made my day.

my parents just did front pads on their '05 E320 CDI,
3.5 hours. $630 they're never buying a car with SBC again. |
