Need help with W203 electical...and hello too!
Hello all!
I'm having some problems with the ole' ladies 04 c230k... Of all the things, the transmission decided to crap out roughly around 65k. The t-converter took a dump resulting in a total trans rebuild. Prior to, the car has had ZERO issues and was running well. Fast forward to picking up the car. I don't know if it is just pure coincedence but I have been trouble shooting these two electrical problems ever since and have had zero luck... Problem 1 No cold air out of the ac. The tech took the laptop to the car and the scan resulted in a bad pressure switch. I sent the ole' lady to the dealer and $67 later, she produced a new switch. Mechanic put the switch on but no fix, no cold air. The heater kicks on, the blower blows, but the compressor does not come on. There's no kick in the idle, whatever tells the compressor to turn on is not telling it to turn on. We cycled freon in it twice so thats not the problem. Problem 2 For some reason, whenever I get in the car (i log mayhaps 10 miles a year in this car), both mirrors go all the way to the right. As in, I cannot see anything behind me right. Add to the fact that the power mirrors do not do anything when the button is depressed either. From what i have searched, there is no fuse for just the power mirrors I believe, I suppose someone could chime in with what they have had if any experience at all with this problem. I don't know much about the car but I cannot find the correlation in these issues. To my knowledge, it shouldn't be related to the transmission rebuilt but with my luck, who knows. Any help is EXTREMELY appreciated. |
The a/c controller inside sends a signal to a relay module under hood calles the front SAM.
The SAM looks at the pressure/temp switch & then will turn on the compressor. Possibly a stored code in that SAM is keeping the compressor OFF. The mirrors work off of signals from interior computers as well. Most likely you need to have someone connect a scanner designed to scan those computers. |
