Breaking Loose O2 sensor

I'm going to change the o2 sensor this weekend on a 88 300E and I was wondering what I should use to help break it loose. I'm presuming that it's best to do it with the car cold, but I'm wondering if something as common(sitting in my garage) as WD40 will work or will I need something more potent.
Thanks,
Dino

How many ib/ft should I torque the O2 sensor

The O2 sensor before the TWC on by 95 S320 failed this summer. I considered changing it myself before I found it was covered under the emissions warranty. I asked the dealer how tough it was to change and he made it sound fairly easy. He suggested getting the right wrench and mentioned that sometimes you have to put a torch on the fitting to get it loose.

There are wrenches made just for O2 sensors, that is what you should use. Also don`t get any grease, anti-seize,or anything else on the tip.
