interior "blower fan" stopped working today...
Climate control interior "blower fan" stopped working all of a sudden...was working fine all day...got back in my car after a quick stop at the market...turned on the ac...but no blower fan...tried all three speed settings...but no dice....could it be a blown "fuse"...? where is the blower fan fuse located???
1991 300SE (W126) please advise?? |
Blower Strip fuse near false firewall in separate holder Black 1" X 2", opens side ways VOILA! strip fuse inside. in front of the masster cylinder.
Could be bad even if it looks good. |
X2. For some reason my local MB dealer couldn't get the fuse, but the local WV dealer had 'em in stock.

I bought a hand full from a local Indy.

I located the strip-fuse per your advise....indeed..it developed a hair-line crack...looked all over for a replacement...no dice...so I replaced it with a standard inline-fuse-holder & 30A fuse...my blower-fan is working now....thanks again for your help guys!

Congrats. I just love it when people post back to report results.....:)

Lead, it would be advisable to install a new 30-amp strip fuse rather than a Rube Goldberg fix. Look online. They should be available because I bought several a couple of years ago. It's surprising that your local MB dealer didn't have them, or couldn't get one for you. You may want to call another MB dealer and have them mail you one, or two. The strip fuses cost less than $2.
