Fuel problem? 1992 190E

Hi,
I have a 1992 190E that wont start unless I poor fuel in the intake. Then it idles only
It has been sitting quite a while. I changed the fuel filter and have fresh fuel in the tank and lines. I cracked the fuel line to let the air out at the distribution manifold for the injectors. I seem to have plenty of pressure.

I removed the cold start injector to inspect it while I cranked the engine over. I turned the key full off/on position about 10 times and only saw a mist of fuel 3 times. The mist only lasted 1/2 second or so.

Anybody have any suggestions?
Thank you :)

What is "quite a while"? If you blow air into the fuel return line (at the engine) does it bubble in the tank or just build pressure?

The benz I just got (sat for 2 years with half a tank of gas) required a new in-tank strainer as the old one would barely pass 1 cup/minute, and the in-tank fuel return check valve cleaned. It got plenty of gas, but since the check valve was frozen shut, it had nowhere to go.

I would do the pump volume test to make sure you're getting adequate gas out of the tank.

I blew air into the fuel return line at the engine and it is not blocked as long as the gas cap is off, lol

Thanks

:D Yeah, I huffed and puffed a few times before I realized I'd get nowhere with the cap on.

Did you empty the tank before you put the fresh in? When the fuel seperates, the water is heavier and 'sinks' to the bottom which is what you'll be pumping if you didn't empty the tank first.

There was no fuel to drain. I think what little was in there evaporated cuz the wrong cap is on it

As soon as I can figure out how to jump the fuel pump relay I will do a pressure and volume test. But it sure looks like plenty of fuel and pressure to me. But need to rule that out before continuing
