Small elec question. Instruments
There is a 2 pin white plug that resides all the way toward the passanger side of the rear of the instrument cluster. It is marked "W" and has terminals -G and + stamped into the surrounding metal chassis. Up to it are a Green/Yellow and a Black/Pink x2.
The plug was removed and rigged by PO leaving loose wires. When I connected the 2 blk/pink together the fuel/oil/temp began working and the tach stopped, the speedo never worked and still doesnt. I have been struggling with dead instruments for a while. Through the kindness of a fellow lister I got schematics that helped me straighten out most of the 15 pin but I dont see this part of it. If I know I have this 2 Pin hooked up right than I can continue chasing my other instrument issues. Im barely adequate with electrical issues and Im rather weary of frying something by hooking it up wrong. Thanks.

I now see from the schematic that this plug is for the tach so I tried polarity until it was correct, I had to fab my own small female bullet connectors for the pins.
Now all the gauges (except speedo) work as they should as long as I dont bump the cluster wrong and make them all erratic. Maybe thats just a ground? The electric speedo is still dead. I hate electricity so very much. I'll do more searching on the speedo and instrumentation illumination but if anyone has any wisdom please feel free to bring it forth! ![]()
