PowerSteering Pump WHINE
Good evening to the Members of the brain trust. (at this point I guess I'm going to have to send alot of christmas cards this year).
Question please. 1988 560 SEL. The car went to the independant two weeks ago to have the oil changed. Since it was picked up it has a strange whining from what I believe is the power steering pump. Might be something else but I don't think so. When I opened the reservior it is full of red fluid...Dextron I guess. My 92 requires only mb fluid which is an amber/ clear fluid. Does anyone have any input or conclusions as to what would make the pump whine like this. Thanks in advance to all who read this. By the way 108,000 miles and it's the original pump. Brian |
