Value??? 87 260E 5 speed
 

I have the opportunity to purchase an 87 260E 5 speed, euro model, no a/c no windows no leather cloth interior.
original paint nice mb wheels over all clean car. 120k miles. the car is about 100 miles from me and before I go see it I would like an idea of value. Current asking aroud 3k. I only have one picture, it is attached.

You are in Canada, most of us are in US. Your car market and money value is slightly different. There is little info and only one picture. Does it have any rust that you can find. Rust is a killer. Drive it! Does it drive well, is the suspension good and the tires decent. I have one like it, 125,000 miles, except mine is a 300E. Mine is an 86 and the head and cam assembly was a little under spec for 86 and half of 87. I replaced mine with a low mileage 89 engine. I wouldn't sell mine for $3000.00. They are wonderful machines with that 5 speed. So I would go and check it out. A hundred miles is not that far. If you don't like it, don't buy it!

I agree with junqueyard. I also have a five speed 124 car. Mine is an '88 US five speed. It's a GEM!

junqueyard gave you some good evaluation advice to which I will add the three most important criteria on which a used car must be judged:

If its in nice shape, BUY it! I would. W124 + 5 speed = awesome

If you buy it and don't want the trailer hitch, I'll buy it off of you!

You've GOT to at least go look and drive it. Is the picture really 4 years old or has the camera owner not set his calender?:D

pictures taken last month, he never set his time/date. calls the car clean, no rust small dent on the passenger side door.
