does anybody know about the hammer trick?

I used to have an old VW back in the day, I had to replace the fuel pump.

Sometimes the crush washers dont seat proper, and they leak. A guy told me if you get it tight, tap the banjo bolt with a hammer a few times, then tighten some more.


repeat as necessary.
