Anyone try this "additional brake light" mod on Ebay?
 

Adds an additional bulb and brake light on each side. Anyone tried it? Good idea?

EDIT: I re-read the ebay ad; the ad does not mention w126s, so this may not be the same person.

Those "extra" rear lights are where the rear fog lights are/would be. I have a euro, so I'm not sure if that's standard equipment on a USA car; if so, you could just change the wiring to the brake light circuit...

It should just be 2 snap-in bulb mounts, some wiring and 2 splice connectors.

Not a bad price if you're missing the bulb mounts (I'm missing my right one).

I've done that mod to all of our W126's....(PLUS an LED bar at the top of the rear windows)....still have to do it to my bro's 300D though.....

Our 190e and 300E both have a third brake light factory....so I won't mess with them.

I'm looking at the safety factor. My youngest son will be driving the car and I think this would be a good ad.
