Will they fit?
 

I managed to locate these wheels locally for a decent price.
16 x 8 with 255 65 16 tires. Not sure of the offset, but they are Mercedes originals.
Will they fit the 92 400E?

Take a look at the attached document--especially table A--and I think you'll conclude "not even close."

Note also that your mystery wheels--besides being fitted with tires 5 sizes larger than anything ever factory fitted to a 400E--may also be designed for 14mm lug bolts. Your 400E uses 12mm lug bolts, so you'll require some "special" aftermarket 12 mm lug bolts with 14mm-style mounting faces if that's the case.

Thank you for the information, I have been looking around for a cheap set up this winter. It looks like I will be going for some used, stock 400E wheels with the correct hardware.
