Hard Top Removal

Roll bar light on dash is on and soft top light on console is lit. We attempted to put on hard top and it will not seat in the back. Question: Is the front pins of the hard top locked in place or can we just pull the hard top back to remove it?

Removal of Hardtop

Sorry 97 SL500, are there pins holding the hard top in the front?

Not pins...hydraulically-operated latches.

I believe those disengage before the rears...

Roll top light and soft top switch won't go off

The rear latches are not working which is my problem. The back latches are already engaged which is why we can't set the rear of the top in place. I think because both the roll top and soft top switch are lit the system is not allowing them to unlatch. Anyone know whether this might be a switch or control module?
