83 380SEL aux water pump bad?
1983 380 SEL
Outside temp around 16 F Monovalve recently replaced Water temp gauge 80C I unplugged the monovalve wires to make sure it is staying open Turned the temp wheel up as high as it will go without going to max. Selected high on the fan speed. Selected the ec button on the control. I can feel the aux water pump running Ran car inside shop for a while till temp at driver side vent (next to light switch) is reading 105F Drive the car outside for aprox 10 min and the vent temp drops to 81F. Pulled car back into the shop and let it run till vent temp gets back up to 106F. This took 21 minutes. Is my aux pump going bad? Thanks for any help. 51 Last edited by 051; 01-07-2010 at 11:21 AM. OK, I went ahead and put on another aux pump, had one on another car. I am getting 85f now when I drive but that is with the wheel turned to max. Surely that is not all it can do?
