Source for Alternator rectifier?

Hi

I am looking to rebuild the 70 amp alternator from my 87 300e. I have replaced before a few times, with Bosch and other rebuilds, and this time just want to do it my self. I have sourced the VR, and Bearings, but I am having alot of trouble finding the diode pack/ rectifier. I checked the parts sources from the top of this forum. They don't list them. I have done a search here and of course Google, and have read many pages without finding a source.

So if anyone has got a clue on this I would appreciate it.

Thanks for all the help.

I read here ALOT more than I post.

Happy New Year.

Where in Florida are you? I know a local place that does good rebuilds.

I was told by a certified Bosch dealer in Orlando that I can't purchase the diode packs.
If you want call South East Power systems at 407-293-2921. Maybe you can do better.

Thanks Danny for the info, I am near St Pete. That phone number just has a generic voice mail. (407) 293-7971 is the correct number http://www.se-power.com is the website. They do diesel only, but if I get them more info, they might be able to help. So I am still looking.

I have a new VR, and bearings are 5 bucks each. A local rebuild starts at 80 bucks, and they won't discount for my parts. Money is tight, so if I could source the diode pack, I would be in great shape.

Well Se Power turned me onto TRSelectric (407) 298-5490 http://www.trselectric.com/. They stock and sell alternator and starter parts for just about everything. For 20 bucks they are selling me the diode pack for the 124 alternator.

Complete DIY Rebuild for about 50 bucks.

Me, forum (Danny), se power, Trs. Only 4 degrees of separation.

Thanks again

alternator parts wear

Hi I assume the first part to wear down would be the VR carbon bushes followed by the front bearing ,then the bush commutator and lastly and rarely the rectifier diodes .
The rear bearing has a plastic sleeve for the bearing almost always brittle on removal . is a spare replacement available for this too?
expert input welcome

Good job!

Got TRS & WAI written down for next time!

BTW, I had the Bosch alternator for my Volvo rebuilt for only $60. It's hardly even worth it to do it myself.
