Cruise Control & ABS Light

I just acquired a 1993 300SE and while I was driving it home the cruise control quit working and shortly after the ABS light came on. Does anyone have any idea where to begin?

THX

The 1993 300se has computer diagnosis for that system. Start there.

Here is a bit more detail to get started.

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=107630

The link shows you how to build a homemade code reader, and how to use it.
Buried in the link is a 169-page pdf file with a lot of good information.
Pages 48-49 list the fault codes for the cruise control system and how to hook up the code reader.
Pages 58-59 list the fault codes for the ABS system and how to hook up the code reader.

It's on all the time. Although this morning it was off when I started it then when I pressed the brake pedal to put it in gear it came back on and remained on.

Just wanted to update:
I went to RS and built my homemade code reader and it worked like a champ. It pointed me to the stop switch. Replaced the switch, cruise control is now operation and ABS light went out. KESTAS - Thank You Very Much for all your help.

MB DOC Excuse my ignorance but what exactly are you referring to? How would I run a computer diagnosis? ...Thanks.
