400E oxygen sensor???
 

Is there a good non OEM need to take a second morgage O2 sensor i could use on my 92 400E. I think I read that some people splice in mustang O2's

Bosch offers a generic O2 sensor for that car as well as 99.9% of all applications.

US Bosch number for the universal is 15 736. The exact fit number is 13 429

I don't know what your mortage is...

But I think $75-95 isn't huge. All the bosch sensors are the same except the pig tail. So you just need a match by the number of wires.
I believe the mustang 302 is for a 300E. You need a 4 wire.

The real issue is getting it off. Have a torch ready so you can do the heat-cool heat-cool removal method if need be. The bolt is easy to strip, and itw ill feel like it's turning, when in fact, it is not.

Jonathan (out of Atlanta) posted here or at 500Ecstasy that the one for a same period Northstar V-8 is a great substitute.

Yeah, you can browse thru Ebay and get an idea of the various kinds. Basically just match the wires, all the threads are the same.
Only thing to be careful about is making a very good soldered splice connection. These things are working within a very narrow voltage range of 0.3 to 0.7, and any resistance in the wiring will definitely screw up the system.
