All '94-95 W124 drivers, I need to know...
...if there is suppose to be some kind of lighted 'dot' next to the gear selection within the console 'window' that shows what gear one is engaged in?
At night, with lights on, I can not be sure what gear I'm in unless I shine a light on the console gear selector window! I can not imagine Mercedes engineers missing that one! ![]() Now, assuming there is suppose to be one and mine happens to be non-functioning, how difficult is it to fix? ![]() Thanks guys, you're still the best! ![]()

Thanks nulu...
My console has light in it (where the P,R,D,S,L letters are) it just needs some kind of 'pointer' to indicate the exact shifter location when it is dark!

My 94 E500 has a pointer on the end of a piece of fiber optic cord routed to the light under the console. The pointer sweeps underneath the PRND32 markings thereby providing more intense light under the selected position. My 94 E320 Wagon does NOT have the pointer/fiber optic assembly. I know the Wagon came from the factory that way because it has been on our family since new. My 95 E320 Sedan also does NOT have the pointer.
