w123 water pump pulley removal
 

my car: w123 230E 100kW 1984, 102 980 engine

I would like to know how to remove the water pump pulley because I need to replace the water pump.

well, any smarties out there who can help? anybody done this before? the screws are behind the pulley and impossible to access without removing the pulley first. I have already removed the visco fan. Any help appreciated, thank you.

When I do this on my W124 M103, I leave the serpentine belt on and tensioned, Grab hold of the pulley and us the slightest amount of freeze type loosener on the bolt.

Very frustrating job if the bolts have been overtightened. If you do a search you will find the correct tightening pressure when re installing them.
