HELP - remove Cap from Auxiliary Fan Motor
 

Hi

I am in the process of getting out my auxiliary fan motor on my w220. I am having issues removing the motor's cap ( the big black can type thing) which is attached to the radiator. I do not want to break it, is there any tips for its removal?

hmm , I thought the fan was held on by a triangle of sorts, came off in one piece. What year?

2001. Managed to get it off but damaged the lower part which actually has a very hard clip!
