Monowiper mal function

The monowiper in my 300D 2.5 turbo, 124, the rotor function woks ok, but the sliding movement does not work.
Any idea is welcome, thank you.

If you do a search I think you will find a lot of information on this issue. A lot of people have this problem.

According to his post it's a problem that the mayor can fix. It's a little known fact that the mayor of Puerto Rico is a certified master Mercedes-Benz technician.

All kidding aside, I believe the plastic gear in the wiper mechanism gets stripped if the wiper isn't lubricated. Fortunately there are now aftermarket suppliers that offer only the plastic gear. If you go through MB you can only purchase the entire wiper mechanism, which is not cheap.
