Help me Understand: CSV thermo switch.
 

The Cold start Themo switch (arrow)

What is the part number for this? What's it's proper name?

If this piece were inop, would it cause stumble below 70* C while warming up?

the Injector itself, what's a common failure mode for these?

Panzer, I have never worked on a 450 before but I believe it works the same as my 500, both are 117. engines. First, the cold start valve only comes into play WHILE the starter is operating. The thermo switch is used to limit the amount of time the valve can stay on while the starter is engaged, and if it is used at all. Once the engine is wormed up, it is not used even when starting.
My first thought for your problem would be the control pressure regulator. A good check of the control pressure from a cold start to warmed up would be my next step.

The function of the thermo time switch is to keep the engine from flooding. See note 6 for the operating characteristics. There is more than just a relay inside the 'switch' as the graph indicates. IMHO

K, that's what I thought.
I'm trying to pin point a hesitation/stumble. I was thinking that this CSV could be shorted opn somehow, but I guess not, since the circuit is only energized AS the starter is operating. As I asked in the first post, I wonder what the common failure mode for these is. I suspect its bleeding somehow or maybe I should be looking at some other system.

It's almost as though the car accelerates in stages. and misses when cold at idle.miss gets less noticeable as it warms up, which, in my mind places focus on the WUR. It will do this from zero throttle up to 15-1800 RPM. then it takes off like a rocket..partly because the vehicle hasn't increased in speed enough for the transmission to shift into second gear...
