Power steering leak

So I was hunting down my power steering leak, cleaned above and below and still could not see where it is leaking from? I took a mirror and looked under the PS REZ @ the return hose and it looks like it could be leaking from there, not sure though? that hose looks very short? or I could not see the whole thing? Any sugestions would be a big help!

what year and model?

Sounds like a M119 engine? If you have to pull the pump to replace the res hose- then you should rebuild the pump and replace the low pressure lines.

I had a similar issue one of my power steering hoses was leaking. Using a goose neck i suck out some of my old power steering fluid and use lucas power steering/ stop leak for 5 day only. Since it is not recommended by the manufacturer i only left lucas power steering for 5 days, and then replace it with Mercedes Benz power steering fluid. My problem got fix.

I too just found about about Lucas power steering leak stopper. I heard it from my new MB mechanic who said he has been using it for years. He also adds one Lucas tranny fix when he changes the oil , filter, and gasket on the MB trannys .

Anyone think these are bad practices ?

Just replace the hose. Stop leak is going to gum up your system and you will be sorry later. Replacing the short hose just takes some time and patience. Buy the correct hose from the dealer. Change the filter while you are at it. Use the factory recommended fluid.
