|
Mileage
Hirnbeiss............LOL!
When I first met my wife, then girlfriend, I told her cars stopped working when they reached 100,000. She looked at me and gave me the expression like, "Yea, right! I am not stupid!" |

Mileage!
LOL! Great reply!
Our ride was a third car for the Mrs and me............made a few mods and took care of it. Still running great! Too bad about the domestic rides................... |
The Germans know how to select good metals for their engines. I should know... take a peek at my signature!
|
Mileage
That is a lot of miles!
The only thing my ride needs is a new real main seal. Getting incontinent after all these years! LOL! |
I never got one with less than 100K. You are good to go.

Most of my rides have over 100K.
'99 E300 = 146K '89 560SL = 120K '94 945 Volvo has 260k '89 244 Volvo has 290K But the vehicle with the most mileage on it? '94 Ford F150 = 310K:confused: I guess they must ask the Germans what metals they use so they can put them in their trucks.:D Oh, my '68 GT500KR = 120K before resto I don't trade in cars, I bury them.:) |

100,000 miles? just breaking her in!
Mine just turned 103,000 miles. I am putting 20,000 miles a year on my 95 E320 by my weekly drive from Birmingham Michigan to Grand Haven MI on the west side of the state (close to pawoSD neighborhood). With a few miles here and there, I am averaging 400 miles a week. She only had 52,000 miles when I bought it in July 07. No leaks. Just did an oil and filter change this weekend and noticed a bit of wetness on the transmission cooler lines, same as I had on my 94 sportline. I'll change them in the next couple of weeks. My mechanic did tell me that it would be abnormal if your mercedes does not have some sort of leak :D |
A nice milestone, but that's early for an '89 300E IMHO. Sold mine at 333,000 KM (206,000 miles) and everything was completely original still. Zero engine work done. It is probably still going. The 300E was a hell of a car. Congrats! ;):D

Time to trade it in!:eek::D

Leak
Yea, there is a little wetness in that area. Thought it might be the timing cover thing...................

MB's Are Leakers!
LOL Don't speak too soon...tomorrow you'll go out and find a puddle. MBs are leakers.
Boy, you said it! Almost 2 years have passed since my last post here. Headgasket, transmission and rear main seal repaired/replaced due to leaks. Power steering pump seals along with the oil pressure sending unit O ring need to be replaced for same. Small coolant leak noted today from radiator. All will be done in time |
jeez man, thought you were going to say the timing chain snapped or something like that. i know of some w124 in south africa going on 600 000km. and that was with irregular service intervals. so i think you going to be ok
|
I planned a nice scenic drive up to the Superior North Shore when my car passed 100k last year. No leaks but many other "fun" things since I got it 8 years ago with 27k on it. Cheers to you!
|
Wow that is just broke in! Nice picture as well. Though for real impact you should have had the needle pointing as far to the right as possible! LOL ;) I have seen that in other forums and thought oh my that must have been an interesting few minutes. I have pictures of my 300SE turning over 150K and I wonder if I will witness the 200K mark.
|
Congrats!
In this "new" world...it's the one with the least cost per mile that will win. 91 300TE...270,000 and running good! 95 E320 Wagon...190,000 and running perfect. 88 190E 2.3...099,989 runs O.K. consumes oil...needs? |
