LED code reader?

Anyone know if the LED code reader we all build will work on a 38 pin connector 96 129 car. It works on my 124 car with 8 pin connector.

Isn't a 96 an OBD II car? So wouldn't any readily available OBD II scanner do?
Regards, Eric

Old analog LED type scanner will not work on a 1996 SL500.

I think you're lucky and have OBD II

Thank you for your replies, Yes the car has OBDII but it will not work for ABS ASR systems. ABS ASR Lights are on together wire harness is good I checked them all .I suspect the EA but want to be sure first.
I have been looking at mercedes diagnostic multiplexers on ebay in the $100 to $200 made in china, they hook up to your lap top and can go into The other systems that OBDII can not look at on my car.
An EA is an expensive part.

c320 srs code reader

My 2002 C320 SRS light and message is showing. My Innova 3100 OBDII won't read the code(s). What do you guys recommend now for a comphrehensive code reader/diagnoser?

Gary:confused:

Hi Gary, OBDII wont read other car systems like ABS,ASR,SRS.It only works off of stuff with the MIL ck engine light. There are other diagnostic tools for this. I have been looking at some on e-bay. John..........................

OK John, I'll wait to hear what you get and how it works.
