2008 cayenne turbo
i recognize that this topic may not belong here.
but i am a long time owner of many benzes. some days ago, i thought i would take a month off and tour, from the ground, the high desert southwest. in the past, i have observed it only from the vantage point of a beech baron. i thought of what benz of mine i should drive for this trek. i decided that i would prefer to do it in an enclosed truck. and not a naturally-aspirated one. my choice is this beast. any thoughts amongst this community on that porsche? |
Based purely on aesthetics, I'm not as much a fan as I am that of the G-Class, as I love boxy, BOXY trucks, but that 500 horsepower is sure to help you out there in the desert :P
http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/cayenne/cayenne-turbo/indetail/offroad/ I'm not in the UK; I don't know why it went to that  But the one you're getting has the off-road package? To be honest I don't think it makes much of a difference, but I've only been off-roading in heavily modified Hummers and Jeeps of all varieties. - Carlen |

Not sure what you hope to elicit from us here in the Mercedes-focused forum. While I have been a P-Car owner and enthusiast for 15 years, I am a 911 purist so I try to forget that P's are offered in SUV or 4-door versions! :-) Anyway, as a Rennlist member I encourage you to jump over there and you'll have enthusiastic responses that might even be helpful... |
Oh come on, I remember when water cooling was bad.
Still, isn't the cayenne a shared platform with Audi and VW? |
On a trip like that it's not where or how you go, it's where you stop. Get something for camping.
