400E Aux fans

When I jump the connectors of the temperature switch on my 1992 400E so that the aux fan would come on all the time, the A/C doesn't work.

The moment I remove the jump, the A/C comes on.

Is this normal. On my 300E, I jumped it and had no problems.

Car is not overheating, but with summer coming up, I just wanted the additional cooling to keep the temperatures in check in stop and go traffic.

Also, the aux. fan doesn't come on when the A/C is on - how ever long the A/C runs. Can I jump the pressure switch to get the fan to come on (though it will be at low speed).

Thanks.
