M119 replacement oil tubes- AL aftermarket vs OE
What the verdict here??
Do ppl fint the fit/finish on the blue tubes to be the same as the old OE aluminum- thinking of hole size. Do they fit well ??? Michael |

All replacements are PLASTIC!
The aftermarket ones are from China & very low quality.

Oil tubes
Where do you get blue metal ones?
Also what weight oil are you using? I use 10-30W dino per the MB dealer's recommendation and have had no problem. I would like to go to a heavier summer oil - some use 20/50W . THat scares me as I believe that these tubes may blow out their plugs as a result of high oil pressure in a cold engine. The difference in oil pressure between the weights of oil is significant on a cold start, perhaps double. Normally I'd use 10-40W year round but not so far in my Benz. |

I live in the desert and have been using 20-50W oil in my E420 for 5 years. Absolutely no problems. The engine has 120K and is as quiet as the desert sun rises

The blue aluminum ones are available from the aftermarket vendors. They are machined in the USA and fit perfectly.
The plastic ones are regular replacement item every 6-10 years. Price for aluminum is 2X the plastic ones. Michael |
