Sounds like classic OVP relay failure. Do a search on that topic.

You're very welcome and speaking of welcome, welcome to the forum. Most common issues like this are thoroughly documented in posts or DIY articles. You should read those just to get a sense of what can and will go wrong with your car.
As to the OVP, it's a dirt simple task to replace. If you're good with a soldering iron, you may find that opening said relay will reveal cracked solder joints that can be re-soldered to yield a perfectly functional relay. Sadly, the OVP relay is not the only place where cracked solder joints wreak havoc on these cars. |

that is good to know...i will read up on it...this is the first 126 i have own i have had 2 300D... an the only problem i had with them is the tranny an glow plug relay but both easy fix i do most all work on my own cars...but electric problems still work my nerves...

I agree with the OVP. Classic Symptoms
Although I've never had any luck resoldering the internals. Not sure what they cost now, but from memory they were quite cheap. |

Post these question on the buy/sell/trade area of this forum. BTW - it ain't chrome, it's silver paint. If I had the $$, I'd have mine powder coated black.
