Junk yard. Most pick n' pull yards are run by idiots (or saints?) who will gladly sell you a CCU for $20 or less. When the guy at the counter asks what it is, don't say that it's a climate control computer, say it's the heater buttons. I have 2 spare CCUs in my collection, and one of them was $5. Then again, the W126 chassis is a much more common beast in the boneyards these days than your car. Buttons might be similar, though. I've never compared the two. And the little icons aren't faded, they're worn off by finger grease and friction and or operators with finger nails in need of a trim. Ask me how I know........

Oh, you're in Guam. Hmmm..... might be a bit tougher to find a boneyard than I thought......

Many boneyards on Guam....dozen or so with thousands of cars.
But...few Benz's and even fewer with the 140 chassis! 126 buttons won't work I am told....buying another climater control unit from a mainland boneyard is possible...but....won't know the condition of the buttons until night time when the headlights are on...when one can see the condition of them really well.
So...
anyone with a buttons or climate control unit that is in good shape?

If you post that question in the buy/trade section you may get a bite. Or, you could get creative and make your own little decals, perhaps use laser printer bumper-sticker stock, and print out your designs, and then just cut 'em out and stick 'em on. A bit "ghetto", but it could be quite pleasant if done patiently.
