Just installed a rebuilt trans (1995 E320), had to transfer the control pressure cable unit from the old one. I may have done that incorrectly as the trans will only shift at 2K rpm no matter what throttle position. No kick-down either. If I adjust the cable to where the pointers say its right, the adjuster is backed way out at the end of its travel and I then cannot get full throttle with the pedal. Adjusting cable in so that I can have full throttle makes no difference in shifting. Looking for guidance as this is the only auto trans I've ever installed, and may have to remove again
Is there a specific way the control pressure unit gets installed other than insert and rotate to ensure all is connected properly? Based upon tension it does feel as if the linkage is engaged with the trans linkage, but I'd rather be sure. Thanks!
