Say Hello to "Fine China"
http://iamfrankstallone.com/E500/hi-600.jpg
Peachparts, say hello to the newest edition to the family, Fine China. :D I am now the proud owner of this well kept, adult owned, slightly modified 1994 E500 which I took delivery on Wednesday 12, 2010. Originally bought in Hawaii, Fine China lived there for most of it's life with a brief time in Connecticut, Illinois, and now New Jersey. With 108,xxx miles she is a real beauty -- Fine China and I both have to thank Rich W. and Dave M. here on these (and many other) forums for their help and support! Here are some more photos for you guys to enjoy: http://iamfrankstallone.com/E500/driverside-600.jpg http://iamfrankstallone.com/E500/dri...loseup-600.jpg http://iamfrankstallone.com/E500/driversiderear-600.jpg http://iamfrankstallone.com/E500/E500badge-600.jpg http://iamfrankstallone.com/E500/intheface-600.jpg http://iamfrankstallone.com/E500/passangerside-600.jpg http://iamfrankstallone.com/E500/rear-600.jpg Thanks guys! Nice car! Got any interior pics to drool over?
Only minor critique I have is....those wheels don't seem to compliment the wideness/lines of this car. Looks too much like a 300E. Other than that, very CLEAN. |
Very nice! Love the color.
I agree with JohnM though the wheels look a little out of place for a 500E. Stick some 18/19x9/10 Monoblock II's on her :D Also the rear looks like it sitting a tad high. 108k miles though. Nice... :) |
@JohnM. - The first thing I thought when I first saw the photo's was "Oh those wheels will be the first thing gone". I don't like chrome wheels period. End of story -- they will move on. ;) I will post interior photos tomorrow when the day light comes back.
@ps2cho - I have wheels in the wings that I purchased from another forum member here that shall remain nameless until they are put on -- lets just say the only thing I am waiting on are the right lugs which will be in next week. I appreciate both your comments and I am glad we all agree, the wheels don't belong -- great minds think a like. :D |
Great looking car, and I don't mind the wheels either. Are they BBS or clone? They'd probably look great on your TD?
The rear bumper is '90-'93 though, needs a '94/'95 bumper. I could be wrong however, the 500 being built at the Porsche facility might have some earlier parts / longer build time. |

In fact, E320 coupes and convertibles kept the same bumper and trunk lid as '93 models. |

@suginami - thanks for the update but I still want to see this 'other' rear bumper if anyone can find a photo. ;) |
There isn't an updated bumper. The only difference between '92/'93 and '94 bumpers is the painted impact strip in the '94.
Just enter '94 E500 in google images and there are a lot of cars to see. |
I really like the colour. It suits the car well. I don't see it on many other W124s, do you know what it's called?

BTW Jeff they are real BBS wheels not clones.

Rear bumper is correct. All 94/95 E500's I could find pics of have the short impact strip. The E320/E420 facelift cars got rear impact strips that went from edge to edge.

Interesting that the 500s didn't get the new bumper, I'll bet that not many know that tidbit (I sure didn't).

Is there a dimensional difference between the sedan's trunk & bumper, and the coupe/cab's?
