ceramic break pads or semi metallic organic?

hello all,im thinking of replacing my front pads soon, ive seen the standard mercedes pads, but ive also seen the ceramic compound one, whats the difference? besides the fact that ceramic cost more. are the ceramic like a semi ceramic compound? mixed in with the metallic material?,i know they use ceramic in racing applications, they can take high heat, whats the pros and cons of stock over ceramic, and if i choose ceramic do i need special rotors?thanks guys.

Ceramics all the way, less dust + less noise is always nice

Oh, for sure cosmetics is more important than performance.

For the most the performance is negligible, less noise and dust are the key factors that sold me.

Less dust is always a pro, I know that my Bundts get caked pretty quickly with the cheap pads I have on there. Good stopping power, but I need to scrub the wheels often. Ceramics produce the same amount of dust but due to their chemical properties, the dust just flows out into the outside air and doesn't stick to the wheel or car.
