Need to know proper torque for injector
The front injector on the engine in my 300D is leaking, and I am going to replace it. The car has a 602 motor. What is the torque specification for the injector and the two fittings that hold the fuel line to the injector and the pump? Thanks in advance for the help.

The injector torques to 60-65ftlbs. The fuel lines use crush seals & there isn't any listed torque spec.

Is the torque spec the same for an OM603 (3.5)

You didn't mentinon what kind of leak, and your symptoms, so..
For What It's Worth: :D If the low-pressure fuel return line (braided rubber) leaks, it will leave your injector(s) looking wet and smelling like diesel. It's a simple fix. One meter of fuel line from FastLane or the local dealer, a pocket knife, some patience and the line can be replaced. Then the injectors no longer look wet. Guess how I know? My #2 started leaking, was wet and I could smell diesel inside the car. The lines just pulled off when I grabbed them, so they were all a bit loose. Replaced all that were loose, and it's nice and dry now. Best regards, Jim |
can the injector be fixed?
Hello,
I am having a similar problem with a leaking injector on a 1984 300SD. The fuel lines are tight, the overflow lines are tight, and I replaced the seal under the injector and it still leaks. It appears to be coming from the center of the injector where the two halves are joined together. Can this be fixed or is it better to just replace the whole piece? Thanks Danny |
