Oli Filter
I purchsed 6 oil filters from MercedesShop for my 1999 E320. When I removed the old filter, it had a plastic cap on each end of the filter, while the filters I purchased do not have the plastic caps, otherwise they appear the same. MercedesShop says to use them, that the new ones are ok, regardless of the lack of the plastic caps. If you are now thoroughly confused...my question is...Is this correct that the new filters can be used despite the lack of the plastic end caps?

The new filters are updated to use all paper construction for the ease of recycling. This is the updated design. The recyclers found it difficult to remove the plastic from the paper.

Just curious, who recycles the oil filter? My city only takes recycle oil.
