w126 back seat removal
I trying to run a satellite radio antenna wire from the trunk to the dash through the back seat of a 1988 520SEL. I can get the bottom of the back seat out easily but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to get the seat back out. I hope somebody can help. Or, give me a hint on running a wire from the trunk through the back seat. I can see wire bundles leading from the trunk to the front but I cannot figure out how to get another wire to follow a wire bundle.

Once you have the bottom cushion out, I believe there are 3 screws to remove along the bottom (one on each end and one under the arm rest). Then the whole seat back slides up off the brackets and pulls out.

It lifts straight up, there are hooks in there too. So when you get the 3 bolts undone from the bottom of the seat back, you need to lift straight up before out. It can be a really tight fit with the pillar molding and seatbelts, much easier as a 2 person job. Once you have it out, you'll see wires and vacuum lines entering a grommet into the trunk, just run the wire through there.

Good luck getting the seatback out/back in by yourself, you need to be ExtraBuff(TM)
I have no problem with it, but I am no ordinary man.
