Pagid vs. ATE

Any reason I should care which brand front pads I get for a 1997 E420?
Fastlane offers both, moderate price difference.

Also, what about ATE vs. Zimmerman for the front discs?

Jurid was the original brake pad compound on the E420, but now you would get Pagid 548 at the Dealer.

ATE supplies brake rotors made in Italy & Zimmerman are German.

Pagid vs. ATE

I recently changed from Pagid to ATE Teves pads on my 300E. The only difference that I see so far (<1K miles) is the pedel effort seems a little higher and I have heard a slight squeel twice, both times during the first stop on a very cold day (-9 and 4 degrees). They seem OK otherwise. I also put in the standard ATE rotors.

What about dust?
Thanks!

Pagid Vs ATE

I haven't had them in long enough to see if there is any difference with teh dust. I have been driving in snow and muck since installing them so I could not tell anyway. If the temp gets above freezing for a few days I might wash the car then I can assess the difference if any. Comments here in the forum seemed to indicate that there was not much difference.

My Car has ATE Calipers, so I opted for ATE discs and pads to match.

No harm I figure, and I will let you know as soon as I put them on.

I put ATE Powerdisc`s on mine, they do seem better than the oem.

Less money too!
