W126 Sunroof Bushings
 

My 81 300SD (Blanche) is having sunroof difficulty. It seems when it goes all the way back it's scuffing the paint on the passenger side and wearing the upolstry on the other. My mechanic says it's sunroof bushings, and that the headliner has to come out and (probably) the sunroof assembly taken out. I'm NOT looking for doing this myself, but don't particularly want to pay for doing it. Imagine that.
Has anyone ever done this procedure? The roof doesn't flow back very well. It usually takes at least two tries of the button as it hangs on the wind deflector. I'm HOPING to hear that it's an adjustment, but I'm sure it isn't. Thanks for any advise, as I'm not opening it anymore.
