2002 M137 OIL LEAK

Have an 02' s600 with a decent amount of oil comming from what appears to be the valley pan seal in the back of the engine. Is this a common issue or should we be looking at something else for the cause? Saw the posts on the PCV system causing oil leaks and are checking that out. Just wondering what other experiences you folks may have had regarding a similar problem with this engine. Thanks alot for your time.

The oil cooler o-rings are known to leak oil, especially after an over rev when the trans is in limp mode. The oil cooler sits in the valley between the heads and cyl head removal is necessary to replace the o-rings. Not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure.
